When you put the words ‘Regina King’ and ‘awards’ together, there is a wonderful symphony that is created, and that is because the two go so perfectly together!

Regina has been charming audiences for years, with her on-screen roles, with which she managed to create a mark – whether by really appearing on the screen, or by simply lending her voice to certain characters.

The show, ‘The Boondocks’ saw her doing the latter, and as we watch Huey and Riley on our screens, it is nearly impossible to imagine that they are both voiced by the same person, and that too a woman!

The actress has won numerous accolades over the years for her roles in her multiple projects.

These included a Screen Actors Guild nomination in 2005, for her role in ‘Ray’.

Now, six years later, Regina is all-set to renew her association with the SAG awards.

However, this time around, she hasn’t been nominated for the award, rather, will be the one announcing the nominations for this year’s award ceremony.

The nominations will be aired on TBS and TNT on December 14th, while the award function will take place on January 29th, next year.

Be sure to tune in to both the nominations, as well as the awards, right when they air. In case you end up missing them, you can download them later.

Talking of downloading, that’s a great way to keep in touch with the latest from The Boondocks too!

Coming back to the awards; it will be interesting to see Regina undergoing a role reversal, as she takes on the responsibility of announcing the nominations for the awards.

We are sure that with her cheery persona and great sense of humor, she is going to make the nominations ceremony, one packed with fun!

However, that’s not where her role ends!

Regina has also been appointed as the social media ambassador for the awards, so do not be surprised if you see endless updates from her about the awards, on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook!

Yay for us!

‘Uncle Ruckus’ – the name is enough to arouse in one, feelings of unrest and despise.

The manner in which he introduces himself, by saying, “I’m Uncle Ruckus, no relation”, instantly causes one to develop an aversion to him. However, as you watch Boondocks, which you can do by tuning in to the show online, you will realize that it is just the beginning of the endless reasons one can have to hate this man.

In a world, where everyone is fighting against racism, Uncle Ruckus is strongly against the entire black community, despite being black himself.

This is one of the most absurd and despicable things about his personality.

He considers being black to be a punishment, and believes that anyone who is black, should repent for his sins, and hate all other black people. It is evident that he has been a nuisance since he was a child, because he has a glass eye, as a result of being beaten by his father.

However, since the reason behind the beating has never been explained on the show, it might be the other way round.

Maybe, the abuse inflicted upon him as a child, is responsible for his violent and hateful behavior.

In a hilarious storyline on the show, Uncle Ruckus underwent a DNA test to prove that he had French, Native American, and Irish ancestries. However, much to his humiliation, the test results showed that he was of 102% African ancestry, with a 2% margin of doubt.

LOL!

It is punches like this one that make Boondocks a show that we just cannot get enough of!

As for Uncle Ruckus, no matter how absurd and annoying his character might be, we must admit that we have a soft corner for the person that he is, even though we do not endorse his racist ideas and self-loathing behavior.

Do you agree?

When you look at a starlet like Regina King, dressed in a beautiful flowing gown, sashaying on the red carpet, with not a strand out of place, it’s difficult to imagine her life as anything but perfect.

However, the truth, as revealed endless times before, seems to be somewhat else.

Regina, who is well-known for voicing both the lead characters of Riley and Huey in The Boondocks, recently appeared on the CNN red chair interview, where she opened her heart out about her life as a celebrity, experience of motherhood and more.

The statement that surprised all the most was her comment, that life as a celebrity is no different than any other profession. Regina says that she finds it just as difficult to balance different aspects of her life.

We love it when a star is not all gushy about how perfect her life is, and instead, dares to be honest!

She goes on to share what has been the most profound experience of her life so far, being a mother to her son, Ian.

She says that it has made her realize how incredible her own mother is, giving her an inkling of unconditional love for the first time. Her message to the women, who are yet to taste the feeling of motherhood, is that you won’t know love, until you have a child.

We bet that Ian is one hell of a lucky little lad!

Revealing some interesting trivia about her foray into the acting world, Regina recalls her early teenage years, during which she received training from Todd Bridges’ mother. She maintains that no matter how many roles she might have portrayed, her real-life role as a mother is the most challenging and fulfilling one.

While that’s it for a glimpse into the real life of this diva, you can watch the characters that she voices in her reel life, tuning in to Boondocks online.

Boondocks, although inspired from a fictional comic book series, has incredible people voicing for the characters. This is one fact that I’m sure all you Boondocks fans out there would certainly second.

If you download the series on a regular basis, you would probably be well aware of who Regina King is.

For those who don’t, Regina is the person who lends her voice for a number of main characters in Boondocks.

This is not the only reason that Regina is popular!

Her skin, which becomes visible, when she flaunts her flawless looking arms, makes her stand apart from all her peers.

And guess what?

I think I know what the secret behind this is!

The star was seen at the Bliss Spa recently, which did the talking on behalf of her shining and mind blowing skin. The spa, which is located in Los Angeles, was also visited by celebrities like Gabrielle Union and Eva Marcille in the recent past.

Does this mean that the spa is way too incredible?

Or is there some other reason for these celebrities visiting the same place?

Well, if one looks at the way these stars got treated at this spa, I guess, the people working at this place deserve pats on their backs.

So, the next time somebody asks you, if you know what makes Regina’s skin look so gorgeous, you know what to say, right?

I am sure fans of Boondocks must have wondered what it must be for kids like Huey and Riley, growing up.

I often wonder how it would be for kids as interesting as them, and more so, for their parents!

Well, that is not too hard to imagine, especially if you are one of those, who follow the show regularly.

Foray into the recent past, actually some 20-30 years back, when the hip-hop and rap culture was only what African American people were associated with. Added to this insult, was the injury of being considered regular offenders, criminals and drug abusers.

May be the current crop finds it hard to relate with, because of the whole free world theory and all, but if you were given the opportunity to sneak under the skin of one of these two young rebels, who would it be?

Would it be Huey, the aficionado who always seeks to redefine the preset norms, but never defies logic?

Or will it be the little troublemaker Riley?

Both have their own sweet charms, don’t they?

While Huey exemplifies sheer prodigy and a deep sense of understanding towards human nature, Riley is all about adventure and fun.

It wouldn’t take any second guesses for those of you who watch Boondocks regularly, online or otherwise, to figure out you’d want to be both, because there is a Huey and a Riley, inside each one of us.

Well, if you ever need to take a stand against prejudice, you can always look back to this show, which has inspired many a young minds.

There’s a Hyde inside every Jekyll, but I truly don’t mean to say that our beloved Regina King has turned into a beast.

She, in her recently released movie Beastly, played Letisha and her role was much appreciated. It also won her several accolades and an even bigger fan base than what she already has.

Regina, as we all know, was also awarded Outstanding Actress in a Drama series 2011 in the NAACP image awards for the series, Southland.

But we know and love her the best for her work in The Boondocks, where she plays both Huey and Riley Freeman. The show takes potshots at how the Afro-American culture is shown in the wrong light by the media.

Both brothers are complete opposites and Regina being the talented voice-over artists that she is, has carried it off with utmost ease.

Imagine the amount of hard work she puts in, while modulating her pitch, tone and the entire attitude for each character.

Hats off to Regina!

Sounds like this season shall see a lot from Regina King!

All the more reason for all you fans to download and share with your pals, The Boondocks.

Her role in Beastly, which is in essence the story of Beauty and the Beast retold, was quite pivotal and left quite an impression.

Like they say, keep rolling as long as the miles go and Regina sure seems to have defied age or monotony in her work.

Way to go girl!

Do you remember the 8-year old lad, Riley Freeman and his elder brother, Huey Freeman?

The famous fictional characters from ‘The Boondocks’?

The rap and gangster-like lifestyle, adoring kid’s audio radiances, comes from our very own voice-over artiste, Regina King, who has been a true queen in reflecting his actions and styles for the past years.

And in a truly Regina style, she came out for a noble cause this time.

Wanna a download of what the cause was?

Well, what am I here for you?

Aren’t I here to tell you everything that you need to know about The Boondocks and the people associated with it?

Regina showed her support for the youth brigade in Los Angeles.

Yup! In her real life, she is quite sapient and aware of what is happening with the youth of today. This reflected when she was spotted at the forefront of the ‘Lakers Casino Night’, a fund raiser in Los Angeles.

And she was not alone!

She took her 15-year old son, Ian Alexander, along with her, to see the difference she makes in situations, where her larger-than-life persona is asked for.

Ian must be so proud of his mommy!

Another starring cynosure was her style statement, which really turned many heads.

She was wearing a brown elbow-length jacket, over a white-colored full shirt, teamed nicely with a sky blue pair of jeans, and dark brown boots.

I know your imaginations will be soaring sky high, but you know what? Style is secondary when a powerful stature like Regina’s comes to the fore.

And I must say, the red lip-color was as cool as her mint green bag!

The mom-kid duo really was at its inspiring best, when they saw the basketball match between the Nuggets and the Lakers.

Lemme also tell you that the foundation promotes education, teamwork and self-esteem by focusing on sports and providing financial aid.

The casino night was sparkling with the presence of Kobe Bryant and Matt Brynes, who were also present.

The role that she is playing really sounds out to all, calling them to support the youth.

The youth implies a nation; and with someone like Regina coming forward and saying ‘I care’, shows that she truly is a woman of substance!

Aaron McGruder, the amazing cartoonist who developed a marvelous piece of animation series with a grave topic of social satire has been honored for the same. He has tried to let American people stand in front of the mirror, to show them their attitude towards their own culture and racial discriminations, which is being practiced. He had picked up the family of Freeman to depict his theme.

For his great piece of work, he was nominated for The 42nd NAACP Image Awards.

It was here, when his writing talent was admired and acknowledged.

Well! Till now you must have guessed what I am talking about. Yes folks! It’s none other than Aaron McGruder, who has won awards for ‘Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series’ for The Boondocks.

Well! He deserved that as the situations in the storyline of The Boondocks have been definitely weaved as pearls in the string. Besides his writing skills, he is also known for cartooning and public speaking.

Mr. McGruder was rewarded at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where the award ceremony was hosted by the duo i.e. Wayne Brady and Holly Robinson Peete.

For those of you who are not aware about the criteria of NAAP Image Awards, let me have the privilege to tell you that these are the prizes given to those, who exhibit par-excellence in the entertainment industry, particularly in writing, television, movies and recording arts.

Not only it is Mr. McGruder from the team of The Boondocks who has been rewarded but, Regina King has also been honored.

Though not for her contribution for the same show but still, Regina has added another feather to her cap by winning the award for ‘Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series’ for ‘Southland’.

Well! Congratulations to the winners. One thing that is appreciable is that after winning award for writing, Mr. McGruder has brought medals not only for himself but, for the show as well.

Hey guys, welcome back!

You will be delighted to know that Ed Asner, one of the Boondocks stars, is about to bring back the crab element in the ‘Working Class’ TV series of CMT.

Ed Asner - watch Boondocks season 3 episode 14 online

Ed Asner

It seems that Asner is an evergreen actor, who is still busy, even at the age of 81!

However, he refuses to be compared with Betty White, the 89-year old Hollywood acting legend.

He remarked about Betty, “She’s not the female me. She’s the big cheese. She certainly is the mark I shoot for.”

Asner feels that Betty’s image had undergone a drastic change, when she hosted the Saturday Night Live show and performed in the TV Land sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland”. Audiences have become aware of all the jazz, that she has kept inside her for such a long time!

However, if you access the Boondocks full episodes online regularly, you will come to know that he is renowned for the ‘usual crab element’.

You will also find that Asner’s latest role is quite familiar.

How?

He acts as a grocery store worker and doubles up as an advisor to Carli, a single mother.

Carli is played by Melissa Peterman.

The role is familiar, as he had played a similar role in an animated movie ‘Up’, in ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ and its sequel ‘Lou Grant’.

But if you download Boondocks episodes regularly, you will find that you have become so addicted to his performance, that you are ready to catch it, even if Asner is performing the same role!

Asner finds himself fortunate enough to be still working at this age, when most of his co-stars are looking for other means of employment.

However, if you watch Boondocks season 3 episode 14 online, you will find that some viewers, who don’t like to catch an old man in front of the camera, are also just as eager to witness Asner.

Asner just hates it, when directors, producers, writers and cinematographers are ruled out, just because of their age. He finds no harm in working with Peterman, who is much younger and is renowned for her part in CW’S ‘Reba’.

So, gear up to catch ‘Working Class’, while you get entertained with Boondocks till season 3 right here online.
